Printed Catalog!

Printed two copies of the catalog at a local print and sign shop.  Each copy is about 1.25 inches thick!  Being able to hold the final product has finally given me a sense of accomplishment and a scope of the size of my work.  In total, there are 272 pages, almost all are double sided,…

Home again

Back home after a 14 hour train ride.  I am moving on to final editing of the data sheets, and preparing to print and bind copy of the catalog information and pictures as a final product for the internship.

Fate is a cruel mistress:::

My digital camera just broke today, the extending lense unit has jammed, and is stuck in the open position, unable to focus or retract when turned off.  Luckily it happened at the end of the internship, as I will need to use the camera in the computer for further item pictures.

Progress Update!

This is a photo of the room Wed. May 25, second to last day working the garage. All containers in this picture have been cataloged, the closet at the far end has cataloged boxes as well.

Stay 2 Day 6 The piles of boxes are beginning to thin, the end is within reach, I should be able to finish cataloging nearly all the artifacts, and possibly have some time to work on formating the pages for a printed catalog while still in the Outer Banks. There are several boxes of kites, which…

Returning to North Carolina, started this stay with some hang gliding! Participated in the 44th Hang Gliding Spectacular during the weekend, placing 6th overall in the novice division with 110 points.  The competition consisted of a spot landing challenge, a turning course, bowling pins, and a ring grab. I won a Millenium Falcon styled kite,…
